Problem; cannot send emails or how to send emails from Outlook when using a
free WIFI hotspot
How to find the SMTP of a WIFI guest network? On this page you can scroll down and
click on the small blue, red stripe icon (left side of the page). Now you
will be lead to a secure WebStat (free counter) page and the last visitor is you on the host
network. This works with pages who have a visible counter, mostly free
counters, on their page on which you can click.
So next; use the name of the host network in Outlook. Go to:
OUTLOOK / TOOLS / EMAIL ACCOUNTS / CHANGE ACCOUNT / OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
(SMTP) and change the SMTP to smtp.hostnetwork.com (sometimes;
mail.hostnetwork.com). Now you can send emails through the WIFI connection
of the unsecured free guest network. Do not forget to change the setting back to
the original, once you hook up to your own network.
Should you use blackberry, webmail or an exchange server for your Microsoft
Outlook, then there is no need for this SMTP WIFI solution.
